The Livelihood and Legal Committee prepares proposals, initiatives, statements, and other comments regarding Sámi livelihood, the environment of their homeland and the rights of the Sámi. The committee prepares an annual clarification for the Plenum. The clarification covers realisation of the special rights and progression of the legislation proposals concerning the Sámi.

The preparer and representative of the Livelihood and Legal Committee is the Legal Secretary of the Sámi Parliament.
